A homage to political activist
& suffragette leader Emmeline
Pankhurst, whose efforts helped win
women the right to vote. Pankhurst
was the first woman for over 100
years to have a statue dedicated
to her in nearby St. Peters square.
Named “Rise up, Women”, the statue
was unveiled on the centenary of the
first election in the UK where women
could vote.
